What do you think causes Shingles?
Monday, October 5, 2009 at 9:11PM
Herpes zoster, Postherpetic neuralgia better known as shingles is a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. This is the same virus that causes chickenpox. Once you get chickenpox, the virus stays dormant in your body for many years. Later on, the virus may reappear as shingles but unlike chickenpox, shingles is not contagious. Early treatment with medicines that fight the virus may help and may also alleviate lingering pain. There is no cure for shingles, however a vaccine may prevent shingles or reduce its effects. The vaccine is generally for people over 60.

Love your blog! Love your videos - have not seen them all yet but I like how you focus on one point and make it so clear. You are my inspiration! Ann, Would you explain lactid acid? Is that why my legs hurt so much after your class or is it a combination of lactid acid build-up and muscle tissue tears? Thanks!
