Entries in energy drink (1)

I am an athlete and I was told by a friend to drink quercetin. It is suppose to have lots of antioxidants and help improve performance. I thought I’d try FRS Healthy Energy drink which has quercetin in it but it is very expensive. Is it worth it?

Richard Lamb, co-founder of the well-known Balance Bar, has an antioxidant drink called FRS Healthy Energy that claims to reduce fatigue and boost overall performance by fighting free radicals in the body. FRS Healthy Energy comes as a drink or as a chewy candy and contains quercetin. FRS Healthy Energy claims their product can increase energy levels quickly without any harmful ingredients. It was originally designed for elite athletes. FRS stands for Free Radical Scavenger and contains the plant extract quercetin which is found in the skins of fruits and vegetables such as apples, onions, red grapes and green tea. While research showed that taking large doses of quercitin improved the ability of rats to run faster and longer, research involving humans has not shown the same results. A control group of people who were given quercetin and a different group given a placebo performed the same. I think you would be better off eating foods that contain quercetin and drinking green tea.
